Inn Keeper News

OKAY, my dear Friends....It was a beautiful Summer, and we all made it through. Now the Christmas Season is upon us, and boy, have me and my family got lots to be Thankful for! Lots! My life Bible verse is "Romans 8:28: For ALL things work together for good to those who love Him, to those who work according to His purpose". This verse would never have more truth than it has now and this past summer.

To begin....as you are most all aware...Lyndsey married Tom in April, 2010. Tom has two fabulous children, Marcus & Makaila, who are now Lyndsey's step-Kids, and my step-grand-Kids. Well.... Happy News. Lyndsey is with Child!!!!!! Now I'm gonna be a real bonefide Grand-ma-ma. Life couldn't be more perfect. It truly couldn't. The little Child is to be born (on or about) May 17. She's thinking boy...I'm thinking girl. We're all praying 'healthy'. God knows and he won't tell, as yet, but either gender is fine with us. We're just happy!

As for Jerry. His health is great. He gets his bi-annual check-ups, and life goes on...and on...and on -smile!

As for me. Hmmmmm. As for me, I was diagnosed early May, 2011 with Ovarian Cancer. No big deal, though. Honest. No big deal. Just a short walk in the park...or, as I truly believe, Just a May - December romance.

Early May, 2011 I began to feel changes in my body. After meeting with my doctor, I had a complete radical hyserectomy on May 31, and then continued to work both at my office providing services to our guys and gals with Developmental Disabilities, and serving You, our dear dear dear friends. It was a breeze, as Michelle, Peggy, Lyndsey and Cathy continued to work with me....or at times, work without me. They rock...or should I say...They were my Rock for the summer -Smile!

On September 15 I then had a 2nd operation. The doctor's thought....uh huh, (they thought), that the cancer was on a not so great part of my body. We'll, again, the Lord knew better. After the operation, it was found that there was NO cancer on that not so great part of my body, and further.....THAT I AM 100% CANCER FREE! 100%. The cancer was removed during the hysterectomy.

So. Life goes on. And on. And on. As you would continue to read below, we're now we're waiting to see you all on the front porch once again. Couples take the Inn has been quite a success the past 8 years, and seems to be becoming more and more popular. If you have a group you'd like to spend the weekend with, make sure you get your reservations in early. The Wineries are awaiting You!

Again, Jerry's health has held up very well. His Difibulator has been working. He's had no further occurrences since his last heart attack in June, 2008. With this, we're looking forward to another 50-years together...pointing our rocking chairs towards the West.

The Lord is so faithful, and we thank Him daily!! Not only did we have many of our repeat 'family' return, we accommodated quite a few new family members, and what a blessing to have met all of you. Last summer was Grand. Thank-You! We have had the pleasure of meeting and accommodating the most interesting and unique people the last seven years. One gentleman sent me an original gorgeous drawing of Neil Armstrong from youth through his flight to the moon. Another gal took her valuable time to even paint a picture of the Inn. Wow! You will see them in our B&B this season.

**Note that there has been a change to our website. You can now view the full property -inside and outside- on our Virtual Tour.

We had nearly all repeat guests for our Thunder on the Strip weekend. What a Blast! I realize some think that it's not a good place to be during this weekend, but it may be that you have never been to the lake for this weekend? As it may not be the 4th of July (my birthday -yeah!), in my opinion, it is far more interesting. All of the wonderful children are back in school, and it is our time to play. It is mostly good, clean, fun. Sure. There are always a few establishments that have their own thing going, but....if you want to see the most gorgeous bikes you have ever seen in your entire life....you must experience Thunder on the Strip in September!

Now just a short note. As you may know by now, all of our Bed & Breakfast Rooms, Suites and Cottages are named after our family, as follows (thought this was important, as some think they are staying near Put-In-Bay (you'll see) -Smile:

Most of you have been through his heart attacks, and now you've been with us through the wedding of our daughter. I thank you for your kind words, your pictures, your gifts, and most of all, your love and support for our B&B. I could never have dreamed of a more true 'family'.
